The Buffalo Rag 1996.2

Post by cramsey51 » Mon Aug 09, 2010 3:51 pm

The feeling of prosperity continues in Buffalo. With a little more than a month to go, the Bison continue to battle for first place in the FL Atlantic while standing only a game out in the Wild Card.

"Unlike the JL, this league is tougher to play in. We don't get to go up against as many teams grossly under .500 as they do," said Bison Manager José Sosa. "They have too many 'easy wins' and they don't have to struggle through a schedule like we do."

Sosa has been fined by the league numerous times for being as outspoken as he is, an asset you received no doubt from team Owner, Walter Poteet.

Looking at the team and how things are progressing, the team ranks in the middle of the pack in most statistical categories, but as a whole they work as a well lubed machine. The key statistic being that they are 4th in the FL in runs scored. The current pitching staff, ever improving projects to be scary good in a couple of years. But for now, Amen Mitrani and Katarou Sadao are the cream of the crop. Up & comers David Blain and Cletus Bullrush, Jr. are getting their 'stuff' together. Blain has gotten an early taste of what the big leagues are like and has perfomed well.

Also in the 'just up' category, catcher Jeremy Hunter has made his debut in the big leagues this season. Hunter looks to be a big threat at the plate, while being OK behind the plate. He has been on a tear in AAA and got his chance when Rod Smart went on the DL. When Smart returns, Hunter will most likely be optioned to AAA, but look for him to have another visit to the bigs come September.
