2007.03 - Buffalo Sauce - One Last Series to Go

Post by mrbornac » Thu Nov 15, 2012 8:59 pm

The Bison end up the season with a four game set at home against the 2nd place Gamblers. The Bison are playing to try and win home field advantage through the Frick League, but getting help from Seattle may be too much to ask. LBC needs only to win 2 games to secure home field advantage, so that does not look good for the club from Buffalo.

With Mark Wheeler having started his last game of the season, he will be nicely rested for the opening game of the playoffs in October. I am guessing that game will likely be against Las Vegas, the only playoff team in the Frick League that the Bison did not have a winning record against. In the 2004 Double Day Series, the last time Buffalo made the post season, the Hustlers eliminated Buffalo 4-2, but with Las Vegas hurting now, and neither team having their number one closer available, it should make for an interesting series.

In the last series, the Bison were extatic about the successful return of Boyd 'Two Step' Beauford, who was good for eight hits, including three doubles in his first sim back from an injured bicep. If he can maintain a .905 OPS through the rest of the season, including playoffs, good things will happen for Buffalo.
