In a rare move, the San Fernando Bears are inducting an active BBA player into their team Hall of Fame. Such is the impact that Luis Maldonado had on the organization, and also the limited likelihood that he will ever suit up for the Bears again given his current contract. Despite never having played a game for the Bears in his 30s, Maldonado is all over the Franchise leaderboards and his arrival as a rookie in 2034 is regarded as one of the key moves that cemented the Bears title run that season and kicked off a dynastic run. Maldonado even gave the team a gift on the way out as he was the tipping point in a trade that got the team mega-star Alex Ramirez. Maldonado piled up the awards in his time with the Bears franchise, including the 2037 Sawyer Silk, the 2034 Joe Gillstrom, the 2035 Yogi Zimmer Award, the 2035 & 2037 Silver Slugger Award, and 4x all star appearances (2035-2037, 2040)

Not if he craters well before the end of that contract (which I think he will and a key reason why I wouldn't go beyond 3 years on an extension).
