After fighting and clawing all season in the brutal Pacific Division, the San Fernando Bears earned their way into the playoffs after game 162 when the Long Beach Surfers defeated the Valencia Stars to allow the Bears another few games. Alas it proved to be just a few games, as the Louisville Sluggers avenged their 2034 Landis whipping at the hands of the Bears franchise (then based in Havana) but unceremoniously showing the Bears the door in a 3 game sweep.
Despite the sweep, there was a sole shining bright spot for the Bears. SS Angel Garcia earned his 2nd round MVP award by smashing 2 HR and going 5/10 overall. When asked about the honor Garcia just shrugged his shoulders and said "I mean, it is nice and all but it doesnt really mean much. Not like I can use the trophy as a tee marker or anything". Having signed a lucrative extension earlier in the year, Garcia is just entering his prime and hopes to win many more of those honors for the Bears, along with a few series wins in the process.
