The Buffalo Rag 2001.1

Post by cramsey51 » Fri Jul 15, 2011 4:03 pm

So I am finally back after an extended absence. It was all of Madison's fault! Anything bad that happens is his fault.

Glad to see that the Bison have hung in there pretty well with overall minor changes. Dusty 'Night' Light was playing 'lights out' (this is all too easy) early on in the season carrying an average north of .400 for the first four months. Now that I am back, throw him into a more regular role and put 'Wacko' Laperle on the bench for his poor performance, it looks like Dusty's bulb has gone dim.

It must be a contract year, because Ryan Savaikie is playing well. Last time he did this, he was coming off a career year in 1997, earning him a nice contract extension.

Jeremy Hunter is flat out getting it done and getting recognized for it. He puts up solid numbers, but the supporting crew needs to be a bit better to make the rest of his stats look as sexy.

On the pitching side of things, do I need to say anything more than Amen Mitrani? The workhorse of the staff is doing it again, not to anyone's surprise. Which has this GM very happy. What doesn't have him happy in regards to Mitrani? Umm, the fact that his great contract (for the team) expires in 2002.

The only other person worth talking about is another workhorse, and he comes out of the bullpen. Since signing with Buffalo in 1999, Richard Wasson has been nothing short of spectacular. He has continuously pitched under his career ERA, maintained a 8.3:1 K:BB ratio (on Buffalo's staff), and was selected to 3 straight AS games as a member of the Bison.

Wasson has been spectacular, but you better hope he quits lumping or those last two contract years might be painful!

My fault? I gave you a pre-season preview and your team is in first place. I think you should be thanking me if it's "all my fault"
