2038.4 Good News Bears- Playoff Preparation

Post by usnspecialist » Mon May 27, 2019 7:02 am

Why is it considered good news that the San Fernando Bears are facing a game 163 to even make it to the playoffs when they have consistently been one of the best teams in baseball for the last decade and have made 3 Landis appearances in 4 years? Well with 12 games to go the team was sitting at 74-76 and 5 games behind Long Beach for the last wildcard spot, with all 12 remaining games against teams who were currently in the playoffs (seattle, California, long beach and Valencia), with 9 of those on the road. The team pulled off a 10-2 sprint to close the season, and even losing the last game of the season to Valencia when they had a chance to clinch outright hasn't put a damper on their spirts.

When asked about the mood in the clubhouse, manager Mike Wilkinson had a simple one word answer, "focus". From walking through the clubhouse after the regular season finale, it is very clear what he is talking about. This is a team that is ready to take care of business against long beach and resume their place hunting down a 3rd consecutive landis appearance, which has only been done once in the history of the BBA.
