The Buffalo Rag 1998.3

Here we are, slowing fading into the obscurity of the season.
Buffalo has not been performing well the past few sims and have dipped below .500 for the season. With pitching thought to be the strength of the team, it has actually become the main issue. Very few categories are within the top 7 of the league, and most of the ones that do, are not necessarily good to be in the 'top' of the category. Like walks
...Jim Cramer has not proven to be the stalwart he had shown signs of when he was in his debut season for the Bison. He will be lookiing for an extension next season and needs to get a lot better if he plans on sticking around. The fifth rotation spot has been a revolving door between formally dependable Katarou Sadao and Jouhn Oloughlin. Sadao is up for arbitration in is aged years and may be released at season's end. Much ballyhooed prospect Cletus Bullrush, Jr. has been great out of the bullpen. He has not allowed an earned run in his last 15 appearances. It looks like he may be moved to that 5th spot in the rotation, at the expense of weakening the bullpen.
The offense that had gotten off to a surprising start, has cooled off to a more expected pace. While Bison offensive leader Kevin Maas is on the DL, first base has become sort of a 'tryout' position. Kevin Greene was a critisized FA pick-up, but has performed well in his time at 2B and 1B. Former 2nd round pick and rookie Robert 'Wacko' Laperle was brought in for his prowess against LHP, great speed and defense. He has stumbled a bit out of the blocks while seeing only back-up work, he is starting to display more offensive ability.
Being 12.5 games back in the divison and 8.5 games back for the wildcard, it seems this season may be lost. All that's left now is to play for pride and play the spoiler, if possible.
