The Buffalo Rag 1997.4

Post by cramsey51 » Mon Oct 25, 2010 5:03 pm

Back to back losing sims of 3-6 and 2-7 have all but dashed the Bison's hopes of playoff bliss. The lone high point during those two sims was a sweep over the Birmingham Bandits! Many of the losses were by 4 runs or more. The offense has just stalled. Once a leader in league batting average, the Bison have lost their bats of late as evidence here:

In the last sim, Buffalo was outscored 52-25 while getting an OBP of only 256.

MR Rich Garces got his first EBH of his career, a double, which was only his second hit of his career. Garces is batting .083 lifetime. I love spotting pitcher hitting stats!

Staff ace Amen Mitrani is only 3-5 in his last 11 starts (covering July & August). He has given up 32 earned runs and 83 hits in just over 67 IP. Well at least he has a 85:19 K:BB ratio. That's a WHIP of 1.51 if you're keeping score at home. If he is giving up, the rest of the team may as well.

Can you say Operation Shutdown?

A .493 winning percentage and a sweep of Birmingham? You might contend in the Midwest!

Ahhh...Derek Bell, where are you now? Man, I have never wanted a guy off my team so badly as Derek Bell on the Astros. He was the black hole in our lineup in 1999. What a pile of crap. Good to see he has done so well after his baseball career.
