2049.6: Bad News Bears- Stuck in the Middle With You

It is often said that the worst place a franchise can be is stuck in mediocrity, because you are not contending for the playoffs and yet not bad enough to bottom out and get those high prospects to juice your system. Unfortunately for the San Fernando Bears this is exactly the position they find themselves, as for the 5th time in 6th seasons they have finished with between 77 and 82 wins (an 89 win 2046 being the only exception in there). When asked about how he plans to get the team out of the multi-season malaise they find themselves in, GM Randy Weigand shrugged his shoulders and said "im open to ideas, but it certainly isnt for lack of trying. We really like some of our young guys on offense, but it doesnt help when one of our big monied veterans decides to shit the bed and have one of the worst seasons in the history of the BBA"

Where the franchise goes for 2050 is anyone's guess, as there are definitely some intriguing pieces that can probably get a good return on the trade market (a route that Weigand went last offseason by dealing mega-star SP Alaric Wullenweber up-state to division rival Sacramento for a healthy return that included two starters on the roster now), but there are also some young guys that can be bundled up for a big name addition. Regardless of which route he chooses, Weigand has a well-earned reputation as someone who is not afraid to shake things up if he sees a chance to strike and make the organization better.
