2064-9 Unfamiliar territory

Post by Knucklehead254 » Thu Oct 09, 2025 3:50 pm

Mid-August, a time where teams really start to figure out whether to buy or sell at the looming trade deadline. Me as the Mounties GM would always dread this time. We would either be just outside the wildcard race or struggling to hold on to the last spot. It made things more tense, more difficult to not make knee-jerk decisions. But something feels different this year for me, something I haven't felt the chance to since I first joined the Mounties back in 2055. A chance to win the Pacific division.

We currently sit with a 72-48, tied for the best record in the BBA with perennial powerhouse Charm City. Even for the first time, we ranked first in the BBA power rankings. Yes it helps coming off a 7-0 sim but it truly feels nice to have a slight lead of four games for the best of our division. Now of course the team chasing us, the Sacramento Mad Popes, still hasn't faced us this second half of the season yet, meaning we have eight games with them that could ultimately seal our fate in winning or losing this division. But again, this feels completely new to me, not having to try and stress for that final wildcard spot. Granted there's still time for us to completely choke this, and I'm probably jinxing it with this article but yeah, it's a nice feeling to have a solid team on paper actually be performing.

I think the question is simply, will it be enough to perform in the playoffs? We'll have to see.

You're pitching and defense is top shelf. I just wonder if your offense will be able to score enough against everyone's best pitchers in playoffs.
