TEAM AWARDS
The Douglas Newhouse Award
(Best Positional Player of the year)
C Davenport Hinkle (32) & SS Thomas Kramer (38)
Well this was a challenge, I coun't decide who to give it to. Then I realized I can just do whatever I want so here are the first co-winners of the Douglas Newhouse Award. Hinkle took a step back from his incredible season last year but still played at an elite level throughout the year. he actually did better behind the plate as well! Kramer had a nice bounce back year putting up great numbers for a shortstop. I remember admiring him in his time in Hawaii and I was incredibly stoked to be able to bring him on this year for what will be the last playoff push we have for this window, and I couldn't be happier with how he performed, Both of these players brought something to the team that I couldn't value one over the other.
Honorable Mentions:
2B Reynaldo Serrano
3B Tony Frost
RF Raúl Peña
Previous Winners:
2057 - C Davenport Hinkle
2056 - RF Ángel González
2055 - 3B Tony Frost
The Robbie Sargent Award
(Best Pitcher of the Year)
SP Steve Warren (34)
32 GS
10-7, 2.23 ERA, 120 K, 33 BB, 0.88 WHIP, 3.9 WAR
Here is the man who I wish could've won the Nebraska, cause he absolutely deserves it after an incredible season at the age of 34. With the pitching crew throughout the year constantly fluxuating in performance, Warren was the one guy i never worried about when it was his game to start. Since coming over from Phoenix in 2057 he has been nothing short of exemplary. He was just .2 IP away from leading the league in ERA, WHIP, Opponents Avg, Slg and Ops to name a few.
