2058-7 Sim #9 Review

Post by Knucklehead254 » Wed Feb 28, 2024 12:14 am

SIM RESULTS:

L 3-11 @ DM
L 0-2 @ DM
W 3-2 @ DM
W 10-1 @ LOU
L 1-2 @ LOU
L 8-13 @ LOU
W 7-3 @ LOU

3-4

GOOD:

9-0, Pitcher of the Month, Sam Fisher has been one of the surprise players in the BBA. Whilst it's still early, Fisher has arguably been the team's best starter so far, and fans sure hope that he can continue this undefeated streak he is currently on.

The offense subtly improved this sim and actually scored runs. Tony Frost again deserves alot of the credit as he is hitting above .300 while leading the team in Homeruns and most other statistics. The rest of the offense has fluctuated between players as some have gotten better while others have had minor slipups.

The defense is still pretty damn good, as only one error by Thomas Kramer has been the blemish for the Mounties defense the last three weeks.

BAD:

The bullpen was a question mark for the Mounties going into the season but up until this sim they held it together for the most part. However this sim they played below average baseball as the they slipped from 3rd to 6th in Bullpen ERA in the Frick League. There is hope that returning Mounties pitchers Jimmy Bumble and Jarred Rodda may be called up soon should some of the pitchers not improve.

Reese Newsome pitched 2 losses this sim with a pathetic 2 inning 7 earned run effort against the Louisville Cardinals. Whilst there are certainly concerns about his play, GM Aaron Wharram doesn't want to rush Phil Cole too quickly back into his starting role, where more or less he'll replace the struggling Newsome .

TRANSACTIONS:

3B Francisco Dominguez - Draft Pick Signing ($3,000,000)
P Rick Smelser - Draft Pick Signing ($250,000)

STANDINGS:

Despite a less than stellar sim the Mounties remain in fourth place still 5 games back behind the division leader Tropics. Sim #10 will see the Mounties continue there Heartland road trip against the Madison Wolves for four games before returning home to face... sigh... Nashville...
