MOUTNIES LOSE GAME 5 OF GEOGHEGAN ROUND IN HUMILATING FASHION
The BBA witnessed a thrilling showdown as the Twin Cities River Monsters clashed with your Vancouver Mounties in Game 5, at Land O' Lakes Ballpark. The stakes were high, with the winner securing a spot in the Doubleday Series. After a fiercely competitive series, which saw both teams pull off incredible pitching displays, the River Monsters emerged victorious in the decisive game, beating the Mounties 16-1. This emphatic victory propelled the River Monsters into the next stage of the playoffs.
The game itself was a one-sided affair, with the River Monsters jumping ahead with a commanding 4-run lead in the first inning off Gamal bin Badr, who was coming off a dominating performance from Game 1. This lead was extended further with another run in the second inning, setting the tone for the rest of the game.
The Mounties then turned to Dave Cain, hoping for a more stable performance and a chance to stop the bleeding. However, Cain faced similar challenges, giving up seven hits and four runs over three innings. He did manage to strike out a batter but also allowed a home run. Boulois Naim took the mound for a brief appearance, but he too faced a difficult outing, allowing four runs in just 0.1 innings.
The River Monsters' relentless offense was evident as they capitalized on the Mounties' pitching struggles. They managed to secure the game with a 16-1 lead, ultimately proving too much for Vancouver to overcome.
The Twin Cities River Monsters' emphatic win over the Vancouver Mounties not only secured their place in the Doubleday Series but also showcased their potential as a formidable force in the ongoing playoffs. With Anurodha Nayar leading the charge and a roster of talented players, they are undoubtedly a team to watch as they pursue the Monty Brewster Memorial Series championship. The upcoming series against the Nashville Bluebirds promises even more exciting baseball action for BBA fans.
The Mounties have now gone 15 years without winning a playoff series, which was a 4-0 sweep of Valencia in the 2041 Doubleday series.
"It's a disappointing end to what i felt was a great season and series," says GM Aaron Wharram. "We plan to be here in the playoffs next year."
The Mounties will be going into the offseason with potentially Angel Gonzalez, Bob Irwin and Ewan Allman entering free agency.
THANK YOU FANS

Great season. Glad you proved me right when I said you were a contender early in the season. Alas, former Bluebirds can only take you so far.

Honestly The entire offence outside of Hinkle and Irwin shit the bed all series. That 1-0 loss at home in Game 4 is gonna haunt me for awhile.
