At the beginning of the year the Mounties were projected by experts to finish below .500 with a 79-83 record. They now sit with a 2nd place finish in the Pacific division and just their 4th playoff berth in 24 years.

“It’s an incredible feeling,” says GM Aaron Wharram, “It’s been a stressful roller coaster of a season to say the least so I we deserve to enjoy this moment and celebrate.”

The team going into August were a measly four games above .500 and looked all but out of a wildcard race that was seemingly pulling away. The team nearly descended into a rebuild but then they did it. The team went 34-18 in these final two months of the season to finish with a 91-71 record, leapfrogging Long Beach on the final game to take runner up in the Pacific.

“We came together as a team those last two months,” says Manager Aurelian Gurrien, “Morale is high and everyone’s excited. But now we know the real work begins.”

Fans our excited to once again see Mounties postseason baseball as the team looks to win its first championship since 2000.

The Mounties opponent will be none other than the defending Frick League Champions Twin Cities River Monsters.
