GUTIERREZ SETS NEW SINGLE GAME RBI RECORD WITH 11 IN MASTERFUL DISPLAY April 22, 2056
Last night saw the final game of a 3 game series against the defending Frick League Champions, the Twin Cities River Monsters. The Mounties had won the first two games both by a score of 5-4. The first inning saw both Angel Gonzalez and Tony Frost get on base, then Jorge Gutiérrez came up to the plate. On the 1-0 pitch, Gutiérrez hit it to the stands, and the Mounties took a 3-0 lead early, much to the delight of the home crowd.

On to the third inning and once again Gonzalez go on to base by means of a walk, only to get thrown out due to a fielders choice from Frost. Gutiérrez came up to the plate with two outs and took a 3-0 hitters count. After it fell to a full count, he hit the ball into the stands again for his second homerun and fifth RBI of the night, 5-0 Mounties.

Fifth inning, Tony Frost once again draws a walk with 2 outs leading Gutiérrez to come up to the plate once again with his former Nashville teammate on first. This one was a no doubter, 420 feet for his third homerun and seventh RBI of the ball game. The crowd was ecstatic at the what they were witnessing as the Mounties took a 7-0 lead. Clearly it couldn't get any better than that right?

Fast forward to the bottom of the seventh, bases loaded, Bob Irwin, Gonzalez and Frost (who drew his 3rd walk of the game) on the paths. Gutiérrez steps up once again. He couldn't possibly do it again right? CRACK

The crowd erupted as the ball was sent into the stands for a grand-slam. Gutiérrez tied the Frick League record of 4 Homeruns in a game. More importantly however, he now owns the BBA Single Game RBI record with 11.

"It's truly unbelievable," said Gutiérrez after the 11-0 victory. "I felt really good with my swing and I didn't even realize that I set a record so it's really awesome, especially with how long this league has been running for."

"I'm so proud of him," says Wharram, "he's been a great ballplayer for this club so far and I hope he can continue this kind of production for awhile."

Gutiérrez has started off strong this season, with a .329 AVG, 9 HR and 22 RBI.

The Mounties sit tied atop the Pacific division with Long Beach at a 14-5 record. They play the Storm in a four game series followed by three game series against Valencia.
