C Davenport Hinkle
Coming back for his eighth season, and signed on for the five following, Hinkle will be anchoring the catcher spot for the Mounties this year. His overall great catching ability had him runner-up to the Diamond Glove last year and even had some silver slugger nods. The fan favorite will be hoping to have an even better year this season and potentially bring them back to the postseason.
2055 stats: .256 AVG, 28 HR, 80 RBI
1B Manny Toledo
After taking a year off, Toledo returned to the Mounties organization needing someone to fill the first base position. Some will wonder if he'll be able to shake off the rust from not playing a year, but a solid spring training shows promise. Expect a warm reception when he makes it back onto the field in a Mounties uniform.
2055 stats: N/A
2B Bob Irwin
The two time gold glover fills in a big need in the second base spot after Karetu's defense lead much to be desired. Irwin can also hit very well and has impressive speed so expect him to potentially fill the leadoff role this year. Fans should be excited about this signing, as it should help stabilize an infield defense that struggled last year.
2055 stats: .298 AVG, 4 HR, 88 RBI
3B Tony Frost
I could honestly write a whole essay on why I love this man but ill keep it brief. Acquired via trade during the offseason last year, Frost bounced back from a few lackluster seasons and showed signs of his old self. He finished runner up in gold glove voting for 3B, drew a season high 90 walks, and was third in the comeback player of the year honors. Signing to an extension before FA all but affirms that he has been ranked highly among the Mounties and its fans alike. Can he keep up this form to bring his potential hall of fame career to new heights?
2055 stats: .280 AVG, 24 HR, 77 RBI
SS Ewan Allman
Last season was an interesting one for Allman, as he fluctuated constantly between sitting on the bench or starting at the shortstop position. Thins were further complicated when the team traded for Reynante Alvero at the deadline. However, the team agreed to opt-in to Allman's team option for this year. The 37-year-old will have the honor of being the oldest man on the roster, can he keep up his energy for one more solid year?
2055 stats: .230 AVG, 1 HR, 21 RBI
LF Martin Hemming
Picked up off waivers last year after Andrew Wright's dreadful start, Hemming kept his starting job after an impressive run of solid batting. With another two seasons after this year on his contract, this is the time to show fans what he can do for a full season of baseball. Will he live up to the potential of being the great Wright's replacement?
2055 stats*: .282 AVG, 10 HR, 36 RBI
*With Mounties
CF Ramon Moreno
The speedy center-fielder returns to play an important role in the Mounties outfield. Whilst he struggled with the bat during the first and final month of the season, Moreno was strong out in the field, and gunned down 15 runners. He has the honor of being the youngest starter (batter wise) and could be an important one for the next few seasons.
2055 stats: .227 AVG, 5 HR, 30 RBI
RF Angel Gonzalez
Potentially going to be his last, Gonzalez has done nothing but impress both management and fans alike. He was consistent throughout the season last year and will look to mentor young Elmer Willis into possibly taking his spot next year. Given that he has the highest salary this year on the payroll, expectations are high for him to finish the year more or less the same.
2055 stats: .298 AVG, 27 HR, 77 RBI
DH Jorge Guiterrez
After a disappointing start to the 2055 season, Guiterrez exploded around the All-Star break, finishing Top 10 in homeruns for the Frick League and ultimately securing his spot in the DH this year. Brought in alongside Tony Frost, he would finish with a season high 35 Homeruns and still has two years of arbitration left. Will he step into a bigger role as the teams clean-up hitter?
2055 Stats: .246 AVG, 35 HR, 80 RBI
