MOUNTIES START OFF HOT TO BEGIN NEW SEASON April 7th, 2055
The much anticipated 2055 BBA season is officially underway and the Mounties started their campaign with back to back walk-off wins against regional rival Seattle Storm. The first game had an amazing first inning from new acquisition Haravira Chandar , who struck out the side. Unfortunately he had to be pulled from the game after complaining about his shoulder. He was later diagnosed with shoulder inflammation and will be out for 2 months. He was subsequently placed on the 60 day IL. The Storm took advantage of a cold pitcher coming in, and took a 2-0 lead against RP Sam Fisher. Not helping matters was Storm SP Lúcio Juárez, who pitched lights out for 7 innings. The Mounties finally cut the lead to one in the 7th inning, with an RBI single by 2B Aniruddha Meenakshisundaram. The bullpen also heated up for the Mounties, as they kept the game close despite the bats struggling. The Storm regained the 2 run lead at the Top of the 9th, which meant the team needed some hits from their bottom of the order guys. With 2 outs, SS Ewan Allmen was the man to tie the game with a monster 2 Run double off of Storm stopper and former Mountie RP Ivan Ruiz. After a shutout inning by CP Xuan Ngo. The Mounties took the win in the bottom of the tenth after Davenport Hinkie hit a sac fly to bring Tony Frost home and secure the opening day victory.

The second game was a pitching master class by Ace Phil Cole, who pitched eight scoreless innings allowing six hits and striking out five. However again, the bats were mostly silent. The Mounties had a 1-0 lead going into the ninth when a sac fly from Storm CF Alexander Julyan tied the game at one a piece. That's when an unexpected hero arrived, as manager Aurilien Gurrien made the controversial decision to have LF Eduador Correa pinch hit for LF Andrew Wright. With two men on base with one out remaining, the decision payed off immediately. Correa smashed the first pitch into the stands for a walk-off three-run homerun.

With two close games out of the way the team took on Yellow Springs and have currently won 2 of the 3 with the fourth game scheduled for tonight. In the first game it was a easy 5-0 win thanks to homeruns from both Frost and Guitterez, there first as Vancouver Mounties! The team then suufered it's first loss of the season in a close 6-5 contest. Though the team nearly came back in the ninth again aftera homerun from Angel Gonzalez cut the lead to one. Alas the team would avenge the close loss with a 6-2 victory to finish the first five games of the season with a 4-1 record.

"It's a promising start and everyone is buzzing," said Mounties Manager Guerrien. "We want to keep riding this early momentum for as long as possible."

The Mounties currently lead the Frick League Pacific division with a 4-1 record, they play the Nine one more game before playing there first away series against the Madison Wolves.
