Whelp, time to hit the ol' dusty trail

Post by bschr682 » Wed Mar 15, 2023 8:30 pm

It's been fun folks. It seems most people already know but I figured I'd just post a little blurb about it anyway. I'm stepping down from both Vancouver and my temp job in Sydney and leaving the league at the conclusion of this season. Its been quite a ride. I looked up some stuff on my way out of here as I got curious. I joined the forums on Wed Jun 16, 2010. Nearly 13 years this has been my fake baseball home. I took over the California Crusaders (now Mad Popes :( ) in the 1996 season. On both accounts that is forever ago. My first act as a GM was to platoon Billy Wilson on account of his crappy catcher defense. So its quite literally my fault that his homer total isn't higher. Still haven't forgiven myself for that one haha. I've seen a lot of history happen here and many GM's come and go. It's been a blast and I wish you all nothing but the best. Except shoeless. Don't let him win anymore.

I'll try to leave Vancouver in better shape than I received it. So far so good.

Wow that is a long tenure. Great job! Hoping the Mounties win a playoff series or more and you get to go out on a high note.

So sad to see this but completely understand the need. Wish nothing but the best for you! If you are ever up in northern Wisconsin let me know and we'll grab a drink at Aqualand!

See you later, Brett.

Also, I'm not thanking you for the post, because it seems weird somehow to upvote somebody's departure announcement.

Sorry to see you leave. Best of luck and seems as if the league is more "see you later" than goodbye.

Thank goodness I will no longer get confused as to whether I am new Brett, old Brett, the older new Brett, etc.

Good luck!
