TVT 2047.11 - An All Star

Post by StormZ_23 » Fri Jul 02, 2021 7:18 pm

Another year, another all star game. However what we should say is another year, another all star game with only 1 Mounties all star. Well to be fair, three Mounties made the all star game last season. However, even with the Mounties contending for a wild card spot, the team only has 1 all star. Although, this guy is a pretty good player. He may even receive some MVP votes at the end of the year. Of course we are talking about left fielder Fernando Castillo.

The 8 year veteran has earned his 5th straight all star appearance. Now that's crazy. Not that Castillo has made 5 all star games in a row, that's expected. What's crazy is that Castillo is 30 years old. Where did the time go? Anyway, it's a shame that Jeffrey Smith hasn't played to his normal standards. For some reason he hasn't been able to hit left handed pitching. However, the same can be said for Castillo, but he's made up for it by crushing right handed pitching. These two games have been franchise cornerstones for many years and should continue to be for the rest of the decade. It really makes you wonder if they will have the longevity to make the hall of fame. Smith is really going to have to pump up those home run totals. Castillo has the advantage of being able to steal bases to go along with his power. This will be a fun conversation to have in a few years. For now, let's celebrate that Castillo is an all star and hope the Mounties can compete for a playoff spot.
