TVT 2047.5 - We Knew This Day Would Come

Post by StormZ_23 » Tue Jun 01, 2021 1:31 am

Yes...the day has finally come. Brad Parkinson has been traded. Many years after being called up to the BBA, the once top 15 prospect has been traded. The Parkinson experiment is over. What were the results? -2.5 WAR in nearly 400 games. What have we learned from this experiment? Well, if you're only attribute is your power, you will not last in Vancouver. The Northwoods Outpost suppresses home runs, so you need to have some contact hitting skills to last here. Alright, let's look at the trade.

VAN receives:
SP Ivan Ruiz (AAA)
SP Palmer Eveland (sA)

LOU receives:
1B Brad Parkinson
RF Sam Ledrew (INT/R)

Very interesting trade. This seems like one of those "change of scenery" trades. The main pieces of this deal are Ruiz and Parkinson. Parkinson has the potential to thrive in Louisville's ballpark and Ruiz will be given a more favorable environment to pitch in. Then there are the other two minor leaguers in the deal. Ledrew has spent the past few years in the Mounties international academy. He's similar to Parkinson in that he has great power potential, but he doesn't have the speed. His future might be at first base too. Eveland's career as a starting pitcher is likely over. His future is a lefty specialist, but he still needs to work on his slider to maximize his potential. This is one of those trades where we will have to wait a couple of seasons to see if anyone won or lost the trade. In a perfect world, both teams will come out of this deal for the better. But, it's also possible that Ruiz and Parkinson are destined to never fulfill their potential and the minor leaguers and end up being lost in the shuffle. Only time will tell. For now, we say goodbye and good luck to Parkinson and Ledrew. As for Ruiz and Eveland, welcome to Vancouver.

That short porch in Louisville will play nicely with his power....

Always liked Parkinson...but now he's tainted by Loserville stank.
