I did this last season, so I thought I should do it again. I previewed 4 teams for the 2046 season and now I want to see the results. My preview results for the 2045 season humbled me a little bit, but I'm confident heading into this article.
Hawaii Tropics
Predicted Record: 87-75
Actual Record: 92-70
I underestimated the Tropics. I said the Tropics had issues to address before they could think about the playoffs. They finished in second place and produced improved overall team stats compared to 2045. This team has one of the best pitchers in the league and some of the best power hitters in the game. They will be competing for the division this year, especially as Ernest McBride is set for a huge payday after this season.
Des Moines Kernels
Predicted Record: 64-98
Actual Record: 54-108
Certainly a season to forget for the Kernels. I hope this team starts winning again soon. I feel bad for them. They had more players with negative WAR than positive WAR. That's all that needs to be said.
Calgary Pioneers
Predicted Record: 86-76
Actual Record: 85-77
So close. I wouldn't call any player on this team a superstar, but they were still a playoff team for a reason. Personally, I'd point to the pitching as the reason this team made the playoffs. With Jefferson Pierce sticking in Calgary, this team should still make noise in 2047.
Brooklyn Robins
Predicted Record: 78-84
Actual Record: 60-102
Well, this was my miss of the season. But man, this team is such a mystery to look at. They have players like Felipe Vega and Sawyer Slizz, but they also have Miguel Santana. Quite the interesting roster. And guess what? All 3 of these guys will be back this season! Good thing I'm not previewing the Robins this season.
