TVT 2046.5 - wtf

Post by StormZ_23 » Tue Feb 23, 2021 12:56 am

Alright this is got to be a glitch right? If not, then this may be the most bizarre career in BBA history. Let's check out the career of Chris Brown.

I decided to look at the careers of past Mounties players. One of those players is Chris Brown and he had a couple of interestingly bad seasons. I mean this has got to be some sort of glitch, right? Between the years of 1989 and 1993, Brown was a member of the Mounties. He produced some solid numbers. The only numbers that matter to this mini-story is WAR. Here is Brown's stats from each of those seasons:

1989: 2.1 WAR
1990: 2.8 WAR
1991: 3.7 WAR
1992: 2.7 WAR
1993: -10.2 WAR

Notice anything? Well in 1993, Brown played 24 games for the Mounties before he moved on to the Las Vegas Hustlers, where he produced normal numbers.

1993 w/VAN: 24 G, .350/.455/.675, 198 OPS+, -49 wRC+, -10.2 WAR
1993 w/LV: 133 G, .272/.343/.489, 120 OPS+, 121 wRC+, 3.3 WAR

There seems to be a common trend.

1994 w/LV: 33 G, .310/.388/.431, 121 OPS+,-46 wRC+, -9.4 WAR
1994 w/SA: 115 G, .244/.335/.425, 103 OPS+, 108 wRC+, 1.7 WAR

Luckily he found a new home in 1995 with the Birmingham Bandits. He ended up making his first all star game too. So, obviously this is some sort of glitch, but I thought it was cool enough for a quick article. Can you guys find any similar careers?

There are a lot of stat glitches on old players who were on multiple teams in a year

If it's pre-modern era, it doesn't count. ;)
