It's been a long time since the Mounties searched for a new big league manager. The last time the team searched for a big league manager was in 2039. Coincidentally, the Mounties were looking for a hitting coach as well. The organization just so happens to be searching for a hitting coach this time around. Those are two big positions to fill, especially considering the Mounties will be soul searching for the next few seasons. So, who could lead this team back to the playoffs?
The organization may be searching for veteran coaches that could provide some stability. One of those names could be Jean Michel. Michel has 26 years of experience as a hitting coach with many of those years being in the BBA. He spent the past 10 seasons as the hitting coach for the New Orleans Crawdads. The Crawdads have made the playoffs for the past 6 seasons and Michel definitely played a part in that success. So, he would not be a bad option. On the manager side, one veteran candidate is Sam Sung. The legendary Louisville Sluggers hitting coach had spent the last 20 seasons in Louisville, bringing 4 championships to the city. Given that his contract was not renewed, there is a decent change he will be looking for a manager role. If the Mounties are looking for an actual veteran manager, they could go after Juan Martinez. Martinez has spent the last decade as the manager in Twin Cities. However, with the new regime taking over the organization, Martinez is out of a job. He could definitely be a candidate if the Mounties are looking for someone more reliable.
However, there are many more candidates on the job market. The Mounties last manager, Marco Goodwin, only had 1 year of BBA experience before he was hired. He was the FL manager of the year 3 seasons later. So, could the Mounties find another aspiring manager? Jonathan Davis is 63 years old, but he only has 2 years of coaching experience. However, executives around the league believe he could be on a fast track to a big league job due to his development influence on young players. Looking at the aspiring hitting coaches on the market, there aren't many interesting candidates. However, the hitting coach for the Mounties AAA affiliate, Tim Parsons, is a possible candidate if the Mounties decide no one on the open market is worth signing.
This coaching search may be a long one. However long it takes, fans will be hoping this team can sign two guys that can turn this team around.
