We stopped writing articles mid-season due to a mixture of burnout and terrible performances by the Mounties. Apart from the 3 outfielders and a few pitchers, this was a terrible team. The bright side to this season is that the Mounties will be in the top 10 of the next amateur draft and there are a few top prospects who had great seasons in the minor leagues. But, this does not excuse how poor so many of these players were. Many of these guys were either consistently in the starting lineup or were in the starting rotation. So many of these guys have proven that they are just not able to produce productive seasons for the Mounties and it has taken a while to come to this realization. What is this team going to look like? Will Fernando Castillo and Angel Gonzalez re-sign on long term deals? According to sources, there were only a few teams that reached out and made offers for these outfielders at the trade deadline. So, the market just wasn't there and with fan interest at an all time low, the fanbase would implode if Castillo and Gonzalez did not re-sign this offseason. However, these are storylines for the offseason. We need to talk about some current storylines.
Is it time to fire members of this coaching staff? Well, there are a couple of guys to keep an eye on. Kareef Ridha is the current hitting coach for the Mounties and his contract is up after this season. Sources say that he will not be re-signed and I'm sure Mounties fans will be happy about that. He joined the organization after the 2041 season, the only noteworthy campaign of this decade. Since then, while the outfielders have improved, the rest of the team has faltered, never living up to that 2041 squad. So, it's probably time for him to go. The second possible firing is a big one, so remember these are just rumors. Manager Marco Goodwin is rumored to be on the hot seat. After a successful 2041 campaign, he was given a big contract to stay with the team. He currently has two years left on his deal after this season at a yearly salary of $1.2 million. However, since he has joined the team in 2039, he has only produced 1 playoff appearance and 2 positive records and it has only gone downhill. He is known for his fiery management style, but it's likely that he has lost the locker room because of this. Once the season is over, don't be surprised if the Mounties are looking for a new manager.

Totally get it. Creativity can get blocked sometimes. I still think Vancouver has a bright future.

Been there as well. Went through it this year in fact. I’m back into things now. There are always ebbs and flows when it comes to writing and participating.
