TVT 2043.2 - New Coaches

Post by StormZ_23 » Sat May 30, 2020 3:23 pm

Recently, the Mounties chose to not renew the contracts of their former bench coach and pitching coach. Today, we have found out that the Mounties have hired their replacements. Let's check out what they bring to the team.

First, let's see who they hired as the new bench coach. The team has hired Alex Wallace. Wallace does not have much experience. He managed the Long Beach Flying Tigers in AA for two seasons and he finished with a 45-95 record in each season. However, the Mounties did interview many candidates for this position. Sources say that Wallace impressed the most, particularly with his "unorthodox" coaching style, whatever that means. We know that the Mounties were looking for someone who could work with young players, particularly pitchers. It looks like the Mounties found a coach they were comfortable with.

Also, the Mounties found a new pitching coach. His name is Bryan Walden. He's known as "The Missing Link", so can his expertise help the Mounties young pitching staff? Well, he definitely has pitching coach experience as he coached the Wichita Aviators for 6 seasons, and then the Albuquerque Coyotes in AAA for two seasons. He's never coached a team with a winning record, however like with Wallace, the Mounties felt Walden was the best candidate for a reason, his ability to work with young pitchers.

2043 may be a season that defines the rest of the decade for the Mounties. If they replicate their 2042 season, there will be serious concerns for the team's overall direction. In that case, look for both manager Marco Goodwin and GM Taylor Bettencourt to be on the hot seat.
