TVT 2041.2 - Deluccio Asks For Forgiveness

Post by StormZ_23 » Tue Dec 24, 2019 12:24 am

Angelo Deluccio was in the news a little while ago for something he was caught doing. Unfortunately, he failed a PED test and was suspended for 80 games by the league office. The entire Vancouver fan base, as well as fans across baseball, were disappointed to hear this news. You always hate to see someone caught cheating, especially a top prospect. His popularity diminished very quickly, but Deluccio looked to rectify himself anyway he could.

To be fair, he could have taken the easy way out and blamed Portland for this suspension. He could have said that a member of Portland's front office injected Deluccio with PED's while he was sleeping. Or maybe Portland is in a conspiracy with the league office, maybe even with the commissioner himself. We would have probably believed it. The city would have probably believed it and moved on. The city is still pretty mad that Portland signed Feliciano Rafael, even though Vancouver offered the same amount of money and is in much better position than Portland. Well, that's just the rumor we hear.

Anyway, Deluccio could have taken the easy way out, but he didn't, which in itself is a positive. He decided to go around the city, mainly schools, and talk to people about the effects of drug abuse. He also went to AA meetings so he could listen to others tell their stories. Deluccio decided to use his mistake as an opportunity to make a positive impact on other people's lives. What Deluccio has done is commendable and will hopefully deter him from PED usage in the future.

The real question now is how Deluccio fits in Vancouver's future plans. Well, the Mounties decided to sign a free agent on a long term deal. This is something they haven't done in many, many years. We'll talk more about this player in our next article.

If you told me that Wilson injected something into one of your top prospects so he would fail a drug test, I’d... believe that 100%.
