TVT 2040.3 - Fans Plan Protest
Well, it seems like fans can only take so much until their frustration turns into action. Recently on Twitter, someone tweeted out that fans should rally outside of the stadium so the front office can hear their demands. Honestly, this tweet may have been a joke, but it seems to have caught on quite well with Mounties fans.
We can only assume that the team missing out on big free agents like Mark Simpson, who had been rumored to be on the Mounties radar for quite some time, has made fans believe that this front office is not going to turn this franchise around. Why have tons of cap room when you are not even able to convince players to sign for you? Well, the offer that the Mounties gave Simpson was leaked just a few hours after he signed with Chicago. They offered him 5 years,$59 million. It was a front loaded deal with the 5th year being a team option. This is not a bad offer and the team could have overpaid if they wanted to, but we can see why they did not offer more than 5 years like Chicago did.
However, the Mounties have spent money this off-season. They re-signed Rashardo Menne III to a 6 year, $111 million deal. Well, some fans have been vocal about their doubts about this deal. Some believe he is overpaid and it was wrong of the front office to pay so much for an injury prone lead off hitter. You just can't please everyone can you?
We assume this protest will result in nothing. The protest will probably just be 50 or so fans chanting random things for an hour or two. Plus the off-season isn't even over. Lots of things could still happen. And if the team strikes out this season, their is always next season, or even the year after that. Patience is key. The team has been rebuilding for a long time, but the team can't spend tens of millions of dollars just to appease fans on twitter. There is a plan and we just have to watch it unfold.
The rebuild continues. Thanks for reading!

How far is Vancouver from Area 51? Think they are done there.

That's a possibility. There's also the idea that both of our teams are not good.

I dunno, Taylor...that's just one wacky fan. As I just mentioned over in the Frick re-alignment podcast thread, there's A LOT to be excited about up north in the future. I'm guessing there will be a few young current and future Mounties that land on the 2040 Trade Value List.

I agree with you, especially when you see the 93-69 prediction for the Mounties, which is totally accurate.jleddy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2019 3:21 pmI dunno, Taylor...that's just one wacky fan.
