2029 #2 Sim 2

Batter of the Sim:
Image
C Elroy Hinson
.387 avg in 31 AB's with 1 homerun and 8 RBI. Back where it all began, Hinson will be expected to have a great season. He was certainly a monster this sim.

Starting Pitcher of the Sim:
Image
Antonio Correa
1-1 with a 0.59 ERA in 15.1 IP with 17 K's to go against 1 walk. Correa really broke out last year and made a case for being one of the best lefty starters in the league. So far this season he seems to be headed right back down that same path. Threw in a complete game effort this sim for funsies too.

Relief Pitcher of the Sim:
Image
Felix Alvarado
1-0 and 0 saves with a 1.80 ERA in 5.0 IP over 4 games with 4 K's to go against 2 walks. Looked a little bit more human this sim but the results were still great. Felix wins this award a lot...

Sim Recap:
6-3 sim has us climbing to the division ceiling where we hope to cement our position for the long haul of the season. We did get those 4 straight wins against Twin Cities I was banking on, we then forced a split over 4 games on the road with Seattle, but finally dropped the opener of our series with California. The offense was tremendous this sim and especially so on the basepaths. For whatever reason it felt like my manager was constantly poopooing my "run very much!" slider settings last season but so far this season the message has seemed to get through to him. We had 21 steals this sim alone, 11 coming from Frenchy and Espinosa. Some teams (especially lately) have been punting on catcher defense in favor of a more solid bat in that lineup slot. Hopefully we can really put the screws to anyone that tries that against us. On the pitching side of things the team ticked upward as well. A few blips for sure but overall a great showing. Correa, as mentioned above, was brilliant and Granados continues to impress. A big bounce-back season from him would go a long way to making the Mounties a very scary team to deal with.

We did suffer from the injury bug however. Annually under appreciated Phil Chapman has been lost for 6 months and stud SP Juan Hernandez is down for a couple weeks. This is why you sign depth guys. Chester Kipling, who could start on many teams, will come up from AAA and more than likely seamlessly fit into the rotation. Thomas Lawson will also come up and serve a role as a right handed bat in some sort of platoon. In the long run the team ought to be fine, especially if these end up being the most serious injuries we have this year.

A Look Ahead:
3 more games with California, a 4 game set with Edmonton (SWEEP!) and then the start of our series with Des Moines. If we can pop Cali in the face here we could make a little breathing room awfully early... just sayin...

As I write this it is not quite 8 am Wednesday morning. I have 27 hours worked already this week and will likely be over 40 by the end of today... Christmas sucks!

Update! Its Friday morning and I have a cool 52 hours for the week already. Luckily for me the government doesn't let us log more than 60 hours in a week so today should be a whole lot easier on me.

Update to the update! Apparently the DOT can allow up to 70 hours in some circumstances and UPS thinks that Christmas happening on a weekend is an emergency. Soooo im at 63 hours now and I get to work Christmas eve now too... great...
