The Blotter 1995.7
Mounties finish 57-105, last in MBBA
It was a depressing year for fans of the Vancouver Mounties, if any are still left. The team suffered through its worst season in nearly two decades, stumbling to a pathetic 57-105 record.
Possibly the worst part about this season for Vancouver was due to financial reasons, they had to part ways with the face of their franchise, Dan Manville, who was dealt to Des Moines at the trade deadline.
Vancouver got three pitchers back, Michael Duran, William Govea and Todd McKeever.
While none of the three pitchers are likely to make an impact in Vancouver in the next season, all three are hopefully a large part of the Mounties' future. Manville was a free agent anyway and we're not sure we could have re-signed him.
Even if all three guys are a long way off at this point, at least we have a bit more to look forward to in terms of young pitching, but we're down a potential franchise icon, as he returns to Iowa, where he grew up.
