TVT 2039.1 - Manager Search

Post by StormZ_23 » Fri Jun 07, 2019 4:13 pm

We have hit the off-season and it looks like we will be starting it with some unexpected news. Vancouver Mounties manager Jorge Arévalo has decided to retire and void the last year of his contract. The 66 year old was owed $970,000 for the 2039 season, but this Mounties team must have been causing him too much stress to handle. He was manager for 4 games in 2036 and had stayed in the manager role ever since. He should be credited for an overachieving 2037 season where it was expected the Mounties would lose 100 games. His track record in the BBA was not the greatest, however he did win 4 straight championships in the now defunct EBA around 20 years ago. We wish Jorge the best in his retirement.

So, who will the Mounties target as their new manager? Well, a few guys currently do not have jobs and would be decent fits. However, one name to look out for would be René Ribbe. He was the manager for the Mounties from 2027-2031 and the team made the playoffs 4 times during his tenure. So, he is a recognizable name but we really aren't sure who the front office have on their radar. We will have to wait and see.

Another quick bit of news was the announcement of the first year draft order for 2039. Where will the Mounties be selecting? They will be selecting at the number 5 position. The Mounties have not picked in the top 5 of the draft in almost two decades, despite the team having terrible record the past few seasons. Nonetheless, a top 5 pick should mean that exciting times are coming for this team.

The rebuild continues. Thanks for reading!

The losing probably got to the guy. I'm wondering whether Vancouver will go outside and look for fresh blood or not. Should be interesting.

Ribbe still relatively young, too.
