Valencia Stars Report: 34-39 (.466) # 5

The Stars seem to be turning the corner the last 6 weeks..May ended up 15-14 and so far with 11 wins in June the Stars are 26-21 over 6 weeks...Much better than the 8-18 start in April...
24 year old SP Brian Middleton is having a much better year in his second full year for the Stars...In Middleton first year with the Stars he went 10-15 with a high era of 5.82 last season...So far this season its a different story...Middleton already has 9 wins and a 2.82 Era...Also in 124 innings he has 98 k's....
Rookie SP Sheng Yen finally has put together 3 good outings..Yen had an April no rookie pitcher would never want to go through...Yen went 0-3 with era of over 20.00,,terrible...The Stars sent him to the pen in May as his era went 4.91 and had 20 k's in 18 innings...
In June Yen looks like a different pitcher...So far going 2-0, 24 K's in 21 innings in his 4 starts....Hopefully Yen will continue to pitch well like his four starts in June...
INF/DH Tomás Mota has been on fire the last 11 games....Mota has hit .471 3 homers over the 11 games....Overall Mota is now hitting .317 22 doubles, 9 homers and 32 rbis...Last year Mota hit .280 10 homers and 54 rbis....
