Now that the damage is done for the draft class of 2064, it is time to review the previous draft classes and determine if the draft process is working in Valencia or if the process is just a load of bollocks.

We will start with the draft class of 2059 which is the first year that the current Valencia GM took over.

Out of the 20 players selected in that draft there is the following breakdown:

Playing in BBA: 4
Three of the four players are now in their rookie season. Those three players were the top three Valencia picks of that draft (Ernesto Escalante, Bhadrasila Chetlapalli and Julio Sanchez). Gabriel Bacaloglu was a rookie last year and was selected in the seventh round
Gabriel hit 30 homers and had a 2.3 WAR last season. In 2064 he is currently on pace to hit 38 dingers with a 3.8 WAR. He is probably the best selection of the draft based on where he was drafted.
Julio has had a good start in his rookie year. Julio is hitting .312/.389 so far this year and is on pace for 23 homers/3.8 WAR while playing just a tick above average in right field.
Ernesto and Bhad were both having a decent start this year before they went on the inured list. Bhad is still on pace to spend another two months on the DL while Ernesto is due to come back this week.

Playing in AAA: 0

Playing in AA: 2
First baseman Ken Hall played about half a season in the BBA where he struggled hitting .249/.268. He has had some decent seasons in the minors but will probably not advance during the rest of his tenure however short it may be.
Catcher Jorge Lopez is a good catcher to have in the minors with his blocking/framing skills, but he seems never to be able to get over the hump with the others in pipeline. In AA and AAA the last year and a half, Jorge has managed to hit in the .280s/.310s. His lack of plate discipline will most likely seal his ultimate fate.

Playing in SA: 1
Left fielder Kyochi Suzuki is in danger of being released once all of this year's rookies are signed and the players are moved up from the International Complex. Hitting .214/.288 in 2062 did not help Kyochi's chances any as he only saw 10 at-bats last season getting 2 hits. Kyochi was probably the biggest disappointment of the draft being selected in the fourth round.

No longer with Valencia: 9

Overall grade of the draft: B+
This draft was a lot of hit or miss. Four contributors at the big league level is hard to complain about for one draft. A lot of the outcome in hindsight will be whether Ernesto and Bhad offer what the scouts believe in or if they will be spending a lot of their career with knicks and bruises.
