As the 2064 Rookie Draft continued to unfold, the Valencia front office feverishly poured through scouting reports, dart boards and a magic 8-ball to help determine which path to take each time their turn to make a pick arrived.

After selecting Bartolo Fernandez with its first pick as previously reported, the Valencia front office selected 20 year old pitcher Juan Genge.

Juan is already fairly developed with a 4/5/6 set of ratings for Stuff/Movement/Control compared to his potential ratings of 5/6/6. Juan has the potential of being slightly above average at keeping the ball in the park and has four pitches in his arsenal with his best pitches being a cutter, curveball and changeup. With a top speed of 95 mph, Juan will rely on control and changes of pace to keep batters guessing. Juan had a 2.15 ERA along with a 7-1 record last year in college striking out 78 batters in 66 innings.

Juan's ratings are shown below:

With the third pick, the Stars picked another pitcher. This time it was 18 year old closer Allen Grondin. Allen has a potential 6/5/7 set of ratings for Stuff/Movement/Control with an overall potential rating of 50. The southpaw relies on two pitches, a fastball that can top out at 97 mph and a changeup.

Allen's set of ratings are shown below:

In the fourth round Masafumi Ohashi was the Valencia selection. The 17 year old first baseman is a slick fielding first baseman with potential Contact/Power/Eye ratings of 6/7/4. Masafumi was auto selected as the GM was out of town for part of the day and the saved draft list was depleted. Masafumi hit .299/.423 with 8 homers in 157 at bats last year in high school.

Masafumi's ratings are:

For the fifth round pick, the Valencia front office went back to the mound and selected Charley Brown. The 18 year old can throw a 100mph dart in the form of a cutter and a curveball. Charley's potential set of Stuff/Movement/Control ratings is 7/5/4 and he had a 1.66 ERA last year in high school to go with his 8 saves.

Charley's ratings are currently:

I like Genge. Really solid second round starting pitching prospect. Doesn't really have a weakness.

Thanks. He doesn't really have a glaring strength either, but I am hoping he can fit in somewhere around the 4 or 5 slot - maybe a 3 if the dev monkeys are kind to him. And that he can stay healthy. :P
