As the first wave of IFA signings commence during the off-season going into 2064, the Stars' front office continue to sit on its butt-load of cash. The anticipated cash hoard at the end of the 2064 season is running around $55M-60M.
While the GM decided to stay under the $4.75M thrshhold, Valencia did walk away with three new players to add to its International Complex.
The first player is shortstop John Brown at the expense of a $1.8M signing bonus. The 17 year-old from Israel has an overall potential rating of 50 with an above average glove. He has a potential 6/5/6 set of ratings for Contact, Power and Discipline at the plate. The current plan is to move him to the Rookie squad in Russellville assuming that the draft does not produce an over-abundance of middle infielders that go Valencia's way.
Next is centerfielder Tansy Tsougarakis. The 16 year-old who received a $1M signing bonus also has an overall potential rating of 50 but is currently rated at 10 so he will probably hang out at the complex this season. His glove is deemed to be slightly above average once he fully develops while is batting strength seems to be a little more on the contact/plate discipline side than the power although he could generate double digit homers at some point.
To round out the list is catcher Juan Gonzalez. The 17 year-old is now $1.4M richer and is expected to start the 2064 season in Russellville with the rookie squad. Juan has average defensive skills behind the plate. Juan has a potential overall rating of 50 as well with a potential contact rating. Juan also has the ability to be an average corner outfielder should the need arise.
Whether or not Valencia brings in other IFA's over the next few weeks is yet to be seen.
