Galaxy Gas 2064.09 - Pancho's Plus One

As Pancho Costa got off of the private U-Haul that the penny pinching Valencia front office so ungraciously offered to make the cross county trip from Jacksonville to California, there was another body that came climbing out of the cab.

"Who is that?", the front office intern asked Pancho.

"That is my buddy from when I played at Jacksonville," Pancho replied, "I picked him up on the way out here in Wisconsin."

Looking at the map trying to figure out what route Pancho took from Florida to southern California that sent him through Wisconsin, the intern just nodded like a worn-out Jose Vargas bobblehead.

Front office aide and hype man, Seymour Wynns, ran up to him and said, "Hey man, you can't just bring someone else along without G-Unit's approval. That extra 200 pounds from Wisconsin probably cost an extra $2.54 in fuel."

"Well I didn't think that ..." Pancho started.

"NOBODY gets paid around here to THINK!!!" Seymour exclaimed. "There is a sign on the front door to the GM suite that puts it in Gray and White."

"Don't you mean black and white?", Pancho asked.

"The office printer is low on toner so it shows up as gray instead of black." Seymour responded. "Anyhow, do you think you can just pull a Ray Kinsella and try to pick up the next Moonlight Graham or something?"

At that point GM Greathouse came out due to the commotion and immediately yelled "STEPHENNNN! How in the heck have you been?"

"You know this other guy?" Seymour asked?

"Of course! I picked him in the first round with the sixth overall pick in the 2046 draft when I was running the Hurricanes in Jacksonville. He is going to team up and be the new pitching coach for our Rookie squad in Russelville. It was in the memo."

"You mean that blank sheet of paper with you letterhead on my desk?" Seymour asked.

"That reminds me," Greathouse said as he turned to the intern, "Go shake the toner cartridges in the printers. I want them to last through the off-season until the Season Ticket revenue comes in."

As a player, Stephen Best did not disappoint. He was voted Rookie of the Year in 2048. He followed that up with a 2049 season where he went 19-4 with a 2.53 ERA during the Canes' 100-62 season only to get booted out of the play-offs prematurely.

The question is, can he do the same as a coach?
