Galaxy Gas 2063.50 - IFA Boom or Bust - Titus Vasdeki
As the Valencia front office continues to look at the various places it puts its money, this article is going to delve into a few of the International free Agents over the past few years.
In the final article of this three-part series and in moving up the ranks on this edition of the IFA Boom or Bust reviews, we move up to the Class A Redwood City roster and catcher Titus Vasdeki. Selected in January of 2060, Titus was added to the Valencia farm system when he signed his name on the dotted line of a contract that included a $2M signing bonus.
After spending a year in the International Complex, Titus was assigned to the Rookie Squad in 2061. While sharing time behind the plate, Titus hit for a .283 average in 99 at bats. In 2062 he was promoted to the Saturn team as a result of there not being enough candidates ahead of him in the depth chart. After struggling in 2062, Titus settled in somewhat during 2063 as he maintained an average of .408 with an on-base percentage of .474. Titus threw out an impressive 42% of would be base stealers who dared to run against him.
The projection for Titus at this point is not on the boom side of things unless he hits a development bump over the next few seasons. At the age of 20, maybe time is on his side at the moment – but it won’t be for long..
