Galaxy Gas 2063.36 - Stars Sweep Surfers

In the midst of a four-game sweep while visiting Vito Costantino Memorial Stadium to play the Surfers, the Valencia offense came to life averaging 10 runs per game while facing Long Beach pitching.
Included in that barrage was 10 home runs off of Valencia lumber with Gabriel Bacaloglu leading the way with 5 homers in 17 at bats. Gabriel hit for an average of .471 while driving in 10 runs during the series. Two of Gabriel's games were of the nulti-homer variety.
Bernd Helwich chipped in two dingers of his own while hitting for a .385 average. Tim Bartlett also added a pair of round trippers. Shu-de Sa also had a hot bat hitting for a .500 average including a home run.
On the mound, Sam MacPherson pitched six shutout innings in a 3 to 1 win allowing 5 hits while striking out 5 batters. In one of the other contests, Shiro Takahashi went 5.2 innings while allowing one run en route to an 8-2 victory.
The series leaves the Valencia team with a record of 58-88.
