One of the bright spots this season is with rookie closer Dave Furman. Furman has made 22 appearances working 27 innings while compiling an ERA of 2.63 and a WHIP of 1.02. Furman has notched 10 saves out of the 21 wins that the Valencia team has won so far this season.
Pedro German was a free agent signee this off-season for a one year/$1.1M deal. Pedro has a 1.75 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP over 36 innings so far this year.
Another reliever that has had some success so far this season is Alphonse Lease. The 26 year-old was claimed on waivers from Des Moines and has an $800K salary for this year. Alphonse an ERA of 3.63 this season.
Luis Perez was signed to a one year deal during the off-season for $1.4M after being traded to Charlotte last season. Luis is 3-4 with 2 saves and has an ERA of 4.38.
The rest of the bullpen consists of Rashid Umrani, Sam MacPherson, and Pedro Vasquez. All of these relievers have struggled this season with ERA's ranging from 5.74 to 7.11.
