In a contest where hits were scarce and runs were scarcer, the Stars were able to hold eek out a victory by a score of 2-0.

For the second day in a row, Valencia scored in the first inning. Today the opening frame scoring was courtesy of a Qadir bin Gamal home run with nobody on base.

All stayed quiet from the scoreboard perspective until the bottom of the 5th inning. Koray Kapkin drove in a run with a line drive to rightfield.

The basepaths were kept pretty neat and tidy during this contest. There were only 5 Valencia batter that reached base including 3 hits and two walks. Things were not much more active when Hawaii was at the plate as the Tropics amassed e hits, 3 walks and 2 batters reaching safely on errors to account for 8 baserunners.

Xavier Vargas(1-0) claimed the win as he pitched 5.1 shutout innings allowing 6 runners to reach base. Free agent pick up Jeff Doane pitched 2.2 shout out innings prior to Lindsay Barber pitching a perfect 9th to gain the save. José Ordóñez was the hard-luck loser giving up 2 runs over 7 innings.
