The Stars added catcher Jim Inman to the roster this past week. The contract signed was a two year contract paying out $1M per year. Jim is expected to be the backup to Luis Gonzales.
Jim spent last season with New Orleans where he knocked out 17 homers while hitting .204 over 470 at bats. The 30 year-old has a decent presence behind the plate which helped to result in a WAR of 0.8 for the 2059 season.
This is expected to be the only free agent signing on the offensive side of the ledger as Valencia did not lose anyone from the position slots.
The life-long Crawdad over portions of the last 7 seasons was quoted as saying, “I will miss the fans and the all you can eat gumbo buffets, but I am looking forward to contributing in any way I can in Valencia this upcoming season.”
