Miller Shed left the game against the Hawaii Tropics on 3-Sep-2059 with the diagnosis being hamstring tendintis. Since that time, the Stars have been on a 3-7 slide and is virtually beyond the edge of slipping out of the wild card race. With the Valencia faithful tuning into the press conference on the injury update that was supposed to last 7 days, it was communicated that the recovery time 12 days after the injury is still deemed as unknown. This pretty well locks in the fact that the 2059 season for Miller Shed is done.

Over the course of the 2059 season, Miller hit for a .329 average compared to .290 in 2058. His on-base percentage increased to .381 (.356 in 2058) to go along with 11 home runs and 68 RBI. His total WAR of 4.8 is also a result of his defensive play at second base only committing 9 errors in 600 chances while establishing a zone rating of 9.0.

Carlos Schumann has filled in for Shed hitting .265/.280 with 2 home runs so far in September.

Miller stated at the press release, “I am sad that the season has ended a few weeks early for all intents and purposes, but I am happy with what I achieved this past season. I will like to thank the coaches that helped me at the dev lab over the off-season as I feel more comfortable with my swing.”

Miller Shed is an awesome name that should be around for a while.
