Galaxy Gas 2059.34 – Silent Stars on Trade Deadline Night

Trade deadline approaches and trade deadline passes. Stars fans are in disbelief that the Stars front office sat there with its thumb up its proverbial posterior. But wait! The Stars get a reprieve when the BBA league officials extend the deadline by 24 hours. Promptly, the Valencia brass respond by accomplishing absolutely nothing.

After the second missed deadline amidst the flurry of 14 trades round the league leading up to the final hour, the Valencia faithful went from perplexed to irate. Rumor had it that the two weeks prior to the deadline, the Stars GM was galivanting around a volleyball tournament in Orlando and then on the beach in Clearwater.

“I don’t care where Greathouse was, he should have been able to pull off a trade in three days,” season ticket holder, Terry Bell, exclaimed. “Heck, Revolving-Door Ron Collins pulled off three trades in just over three hours at rival Bikini!”, Terry continued.

At a press conference, a tanned Greathouse wearing a volleyball medallion around his neck stated that there were indeed three offers made for Adam Hines and another for Luis Gonzales but none of the offers included a high enough prospect for the Stars to forego the chance at extending the contracts for those two players.
