Galaxy Gas 2059.10 – Stars Doo-Doo Alert

Valencia is 20 games into its Spring Training prior to its 2059 season. With 10 more games left, the Stars have compiled a 6-14 record, only to be outdone by the Bikini Krill at 5-15.

The team stats support this record. Valencia pitching has allowed 45 HRs while only belting out 22 of their own. The Stars’ staff/defense has been racked up for 109 runs allowed while the Valencua bats have only been able to muster 76 runs of their own. The Valencia scoreboard has tallied more than 5 runs only once in the 20 games played thus far.

One glaring concern on the mound so far this spring has been none other than starter Ruben Vazquez. The once dominate 36 year-old has only seen 3.1 innings of work so far giving up 4 runs. He has only started one game thus far due to some nagging elbow issues. With roughly $29M dollars left on his contact, including a $10.7M player option in 2061, there is still a lot of money to be spent on Ruben.

While there is little hope that Ruben will get back to his pre-injury, younger form (18 wins and 3.09 ERA in 2053), the Stars faithful are oping that he can still contribute as a middle to back-end rotation starter.

Vazquez's injury was a tough blow for Valencia.

Might have to cut your losses with Vazquez.

Good grief, that contract is an albatross.
