VALENCIA – It's now been 11 consecutive losing seasons for the Comets who managed to improve by exactly one win over the previous year's squad (35-105). Jamestown finished last in their division, with ineffective hitting and catastrophically bad pitching. The club scored just 514 runs and gave up 907 runs for a -393 run differential. This is actually an improvement over last season.

Position Player of the Year: Outfielder, Raúl López
Acquired: 2053 Draft, 22nd Pick in Round 3 (101st Overall Pick)
Born: San Juan, Puerto Rico
.318/.409/.435, .844 OPS, 135 wRC+, 4.4 WAR
Signature Moment: Went 5 for 6 with a walk, on August 22, against the Saskatchewan Monarchs

López has been in the Stars minor league system for five seasons now. He is a corner outfield prospect with decent, but by no means standout, defensive quality. He has been an on-base machine in recent seasons, but has little power. While he is intelligent, and has good foot speed, López is just not effective on the base paths. Twenty stolen bases versus sixteen times caught stealing illustrates that he still needs a good deal of coaching up in this arena. López looks considerably more polished when he is at the plate, and his stock has been rising slowly in the eyes of scouts. The BBA scouting service has assigned to him a future value score of 45. López is a player worth watching as he begins his age-22 season in Class AAA.

Pitcher of the Year: Nobody

It was a fairly bleak year in Jamestown for pitching. The staff had a cumulative WAR of -17.6, and no pitcher had an individual WAR above 0.1, and none had a FIP below 4.42. And so, there was no pitcher worthy of recognition in Jamestown in 2057. The lack of organizational depth at this position is concerning.
