Valencia Stars: New Faces 2043 # 3

The Stars are have a few new players for the 2043 season...Hopefully they can make some impact on this season
as they play more..

RP/SP John Olson was the Stars top pick last season with the 22nd overall pick. Olsen was a SP in college where in 29 starts he had an impressive 1.39 ERA and 212 K's in 169 innings.. Last season the Stars started him at AA ball, so when he looked good he went to AAA team. Olsen got hammered at first, the Stars moved him to the closer slot and he looked a lot better... Olsen starter off as the Stars closer and did ok but struggled so he now works as the setup guy.. Olsen will stay as a RP this season with a occasionally getting a start to ease him into the rotation...

3B Kenan Reis was drafted in 2038 in round 3. In his last 2 seasons at AAA he really picked it up and in those 2 seasons .275 30 130 Rbi's. Reis was ready for the show. So far in his first season Reis is hitting .276 10 homers and 32 RBI'S... Reis could end up with 25 plus homers this season and for a rookie he is looking good...

OF Gene Meade was just called up a few weeks back. The Stars like his potential. Meade in 2039 was drafted with the 14 pick in round 2. In AAA he looked solid with a .308 21 98 stat line in 142 games...Meade is splitting time as a starter and hopefully he can get hot as the season keeps going. So far Meade in 18 games is hitting .241 and 2 homers.. look for better things to come from Meade...

1B Miguel Maez was drafted in 2038 in round 4. Just like the others in AAA he looked good with a .298 20 70 stat line in 105 games... Maez got his shot vs lefthand pitching and so far isn't looking great with only a .205 3 9 batting average in 28 games...Maez will get a long look at for all of this season to see where he will fit in...he still is very young at 22 and hopefully over time get better...
