The Stars had two fantastic months but August has started out not as good as the Stars have gone 3-6 so far. This is the month that they really need to gain some ground not go backwards. In August the Stars fell .05 behind the first week but still are in the wildcard hunt… In the last 10 games the Stars went 4-6, California 3-7 and Vancouver 5-5 so they really lost a chance to move up a little..

SP Pepe Hernández has been very hot the last 5 games going 4-1 with a 1.30 ERA. Hernández now 25, is in his 3rd season with the Stars and is having another solid year so far...Hernández is 8-8 with a 3.42 Era so far and now is the ace of the staff...Last season Hernández had a very good year going 13-6 with a 4.59 era in his first full year....

SP/CLO José Martínezstarted the year off very slow so the Stars gave him the closer role and did well getting 15 saves...Going down the stretch the Stars needed more help as a starting and last week he did really good in his first start back. Martínez last week went 6 innings allowed 7 hits, 7 K's and only one run but the pen blew the game. Still a really good start for José Martínez and hoping more will come over the last 60 days...

3B Curt Love was very hot the last 14 games...Love over that time hit .389 7 homers to help the offensive attach for the Stars...Love now 26, has been playing for the Stars for 6 seasons now and has averaged 30 homers over that time...This season Love has .305 23 58 line and should have another 30 homerun season...
