Valencia Stars: 29-32 (.475) # 3

The Stars who had a horrible start in April going 11-16, came back in May to play .500 baseball having a 13-13 month and now the start of June going 5-3...The Stars have moved up in the standings the last few weeks going from 8 games out to 6 games out and hopefully they can start winning more games and catch up to the leaders of the division. The Stars offense still remains a big mystery and hopefully get going soon...

The Stars called up Ellis Curran to replace rookie Júlio Guerra and hopefully add some spark to this lineup...Curran has been fantastic, hammering 13 homers, and driving in 36 runs in 36 games..Curran is hitting .372 during this hot streak... Curran was the Stars starting 1B/DH 2038 and 2039 and hit 41 homers between both seasons. Curran wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .474 average (9-for-19) with 3 home runs and 5 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor, Frick League Player of the Week Award. Curran is showing the Stars he belongs as a starter and has really given the team a boost.

Kiichi Suzuki is off to a good start..Suzuki was moved to 1B this year and seems to be liking it over there..Suzuki this season is hitting .309 12 26 so far this season...since 2035 he has hit 141 homers with a .264 batting average...2038 was his best season when he hit .290 36 103...Suzuki is in his last year of his contract and time will tell if he stays a Star...

Everyone biggest concern is still All-Star SS Ángel Zalapa.. Zalapa after only hitting one homer in April did collect 6 in May but his batting average is still low compared what he usually does...So far this season Zalapa has hit .246 8 27, compared to his usual.290 35 homers. Its still the starting of June and there is more time but by July he needs to start heating up for him or it will be a long season..The Stars need his bat....
