Valencia Stars: Mahaffey # 1

Post by leejay56 » Mon Dec 30, 2019 10:14 pm

The Stars saw LF Frank Mahaffey leave for Free Agency after Mahaffey wouldn't come down off his very high price and wanted more money. Mahaffey who had a monster year in 2039 with 50 homers and 107 Rbis started 2040 with his first major injury, (Fractured thumb), out for 6 plus weeks. Mahaffey never came back to his form as 2040 ended up .210 26 homers and 55 RBI'S in 100 games...The Stars didn't really see any improvement in his swing even after he came back and decided he was to risky of an investment and Mahaffey wasn't going down on his price...
Mahaffey ended up playing for the Stars for 7 years. Mahaffey ended his career with .266 BA, 262 Homeruns, 662 Rbis and played in one post season game. He ended up with a career War of 21.7...Mahaffey was a dominate power hitter for many years...If he goes down in price I'm sure some team will pick him up..

Mahaffey made it on the all time Stars list in a few categories. If he stayed healthy and stayed a few years he could been one of the all-time greats for the Stars...
SLUGGING PCT - CAREER .511 4th overall
OPS - CAREER .857 3rd overall
TOTAL BASES - CAREER 1984 9th overall
HOME RUNS - CAREER 262 3rd overall His 50 homerun season is 4th overall
RBIS - CAREER 662 8th overall
