Valencia Stars:85-77 (.525) # 8

Post by leejay56 » Sat Dec 07, 2019 11:22 am

The Stars ended the season out of the playoffs after another solid season with 85 wins...The Stars missing the playoffs by one game, one more win would of done it but instead the team is sitting on the side lines and getting ready for 2041...
The good news the Stars have put together 3 winning seasons in a roll, 87 wins in 2038, 82 in 2039 and 85 this season...The last time the Stars had winning season in a roll was 2017-2021, and made the playoffs each of those years...

More good news as the Stars attendance went from 1,857,783 to 3,505,443 in one year...The 3,505,443 attendance this season was the best since 3,516,853 in 2034 when the Stars only won 66 games this season. Hopefully the Stars can do better than 3.5 M in 2041...

The offensive side did extremally good again in 2040.. The team Batting average of .276 was the second best in the JL. Rookie Aaron Haney lead the team with a .320 average with 211 hits, 43 homeruns and 109 Rbis... Haney also lead the team with 7.3 WAR...Fantasic rookie season for Haney...

The Stars had the number one team Slugging Percentage of .496 in the JY and the second best OBP with .831.. This line up created 295 homers this season very close to 300 of last season. Leading the way was outfielder Ramón Pagán who smashed 51 homers in 2040 and drove in 124 runs...As a team the Stars had 7 starters with 20 homers or more...SIX of those hit 30 or more homeruns this season.
SP Pepe Hernández in his first full season did very good winning 13 games and losing only 6. He pitched in 33 games, gave the Stars 202 innings, with 163 K this year...Hernández will be the ace moving forward in 2041...Another first was SP Jorge García. García was slated to start this season but the Stars tried him out in the closer role and looked great...He ended up with 41 saves this season. García did get a shot to start 4 games and went 2-1.. García even though he did good as a closer the Stars have other options going into 2041 and García could find his way back into the rotation next season...

The Stars should have the same team next season. Next decision to think about will be OF/DH Frank Mahaffey. Mahaffey is in his free agent year. Lets see what happens in the next month...
