Valencia Stars:10-7 (.588) # 2

Post by leejay56 » Fri Oct 04, 2019 1:11 am

The Stars start the season slightly above .500 going 10-7 and 1.5 games behind Long Beach. The season started with a lot of excitement as the top rookie in the BBA Aaron Haney is the new CF for the Stars. Haney the number one prospect last season in AAA showed how ready he really was...In 120 games Haney hit .332 157 hits, 34 doubles, 14 triples, 42 homeruns and 101 RBI'S and had an OPS of 1.162...Haney start of his first 2 weeks looked very good. Haney is hitting .282, already has 6 homers, 13 Rbi's and an OPS of .910... Stars are very excited about Haney future with the team...

The Stars start the season with some major injuries the first few weeks... Starting LF Frank Mahaffey Fractured thumb and He's expected to miss about 6 weeks. Frank Mahaffey only saw 2 AB before the injury. Last season Mahaffey had another special year smashing 50 homers and 107 RBI'S...The Stars are going to have to wait until May to see Mahaffey in the lineup...

Another injury was 3B Kiichi Suzuki . Suzuki has been the Stars 3B for 6 years now...Last season Suzuki hit .243 with 26 homeruns....Over the 5 years Suzuki has hit .261 116 homers...
Suzuki will be back in May too...

1B Mike Ellis went down with a Strained back and will miss 3-4 more weeks...Last season Ellis had 201 hits with a .322 batting average...
So the Stars need to keep it close and hopefully in May all 3 players will be back....

Haney is scary good. Combined with Mahaffey, I fear for opposing lineups. Thankfully, they'll get a slight reprieve until May. I'm sure it helps that Felix, Jr. is playing well.

Holy god, Haney has incredible ratings and a solid history of hitting well. Man, he's anything but "Slowpoke" as his nickname implies.

Life is a bit more beautiful when time is measured by the half inning rather than the half hour.

Your team is just ridiculous. If you could just avoid sweeping me again, that would be greatly appreciated.
